At Graduation 2000, there were over 250 RMIT staff volunteer marshals
who assisted in a variety of capacities to provide the resource to make
the event work. We sincerely thank all who helped the participating students
and the organisers.
Feedback from volunteers of Graduation 2000 reflects that there were
some difficulties with the clarity of roles, sharing of the workload,
liaison with the event coordinator, training, food and drinks etc.
It has been a priority in the planning for Graduation 2001 to ensure
that marshals who are involved in this year's ceremony are:
- well prepared and trained for their respective roles at the event;
- clear on the extent of their responsibility;
- highly motivated;
- well equipped;
- well fed;
- provided with a room to rest, eat and be briefed; and
- well-appreciated.
The variety of roles, time commitments and responsibilities can be viewed
here Job Descriptions for Marshals 2001
Further information on the ceremony, marshal provisions, uniforms, training,
catering, transport etc will be provided at the Marshal Recruitment Day.
