Gowns and Hoods
RMIT University regulations prescribe the wearing of traditional cloth gowns at Graduation Ceremonies. The style of gown a graduate wears is determined by the level of award that they receiving and the discipline of the course. Students shouldn’t be overly concerned about the exact size of the gown as academic regalia is meant to be loose fitting. The colour hood a graduate will wear depends on degree. Double degree students are entitled to wear hoods pertaining to both degrees they are graduating from. Instructions for correct wearing on colours will be demonstrated at the Gown and Ticket Collection days.
